Teaching Time: Play from DVD, THE EXPERIENCE OF VICTORY, by Deborah’s Press Conference (CR CP DVD). Play CR Channel DEVO about Victory #2.
Small Group/Journal time. Need pen/pencil, CP Journal page. Form groups. READ Small Group Guidelines. Questions: (1) what did you think about Barak and Deborah’s Story? (2) What did it take for Barak to be VICTORIOUS? (3) What can you lear from this to have VICTORY in your life?
Centers:
- Winner Chat. Need a toilet paper roll. Have the children share postitive traits, characteristics, or abilities, according to how many squares of toilet paper they take from the roll.
- This is War. Need Bible and Ball. Form two teams, the teams can come up with a team name and chant/call. READ Psalm 133: 1-2. Questions: (1) What does unity mean? (2) What did it feel like to win as a team? (3) How does working as a team help us in life? (4) How can you encourage your team this week and support on another to have VICTORY?
- Balloon Crunch. Need inflated and tied off balloon for each child. Lable each balloon with two body parts; ex: head/elbow, head/hand, knee/knee, ear/ear, hand/back, foot/foot, elbow/elbow, etc… Have the children form a line and then tell them they must follow the ballon directions. Then once the line is connected, have the chilren follow “Simon” commands, ex: Walk accross the room 2 steps, jump up/down moving forward by 2 jumps, turn around in a circle 2 times… Goal of game is to keep balloons in place, if balloon falls then children must return to starting place and follow directions again. Questions: (1) How easy or difficult was it to remain holding up your balloon between your partners? How did you keep your balloon in place? Were you able to work together to be VICTORIOUS?
SMALL GROUP: Reflection about Centers.
Prayer/Closing: (1) Share Blessings/Prayers, (2) Closing Prayer: Dear Heavely Father, thank you for taking all of us and our families this fare in our recovery journey. Thank you heavely father for helping to make us to be victorious, thank you for helping us to listen and follow you, give us all strength, courage and allow us to accept all the changes you want us to make in ourselves. THank you for sending Jesus Christ to be our symbol of VICTORY, we depend on Jesus to be the VICTORIOUS people you want us to become. In Jesus Name. AMEN. (3) Read/Repeat/Say Serenity Prayer. Play His Great Love.
